M. Seddlgh aod G.D. Jolliff at OSU, Identified a soybean germplasm that would fill pods when subjected to cool night temperatures. This germplasm was crossed at Corvallis with productfve Jines to produce 'OR61 and 'OR8', arnoung others, At this point, the development moved to Ontario, Oregon. At the request of Dr. Clint Shock, these two lines were crossed with early maturing hlgh-yleldlng semi-dwarf Una by R.L. Cooper (USDA, ARS) to produce semi-dwarf lines with potential adaptation to the PNW.
