Environment description: Collection site has 30% slope, southern aspect, rocky loam soil with cobbly surface, and is well drained. Site is from the toeslope to ridge top. Area grazed. Site is in Omernik Ecoregion, Level IV-Continental Zone Foothills(11i).

Associated species: Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Prunus shrub, Lepidium draba, Agoseris sp, brome grass, Agropyron spicatum, Elymus elymoides
Comment: Original seed collected in 2006 from 7 plants as individuals(18-44 seed per plant, 169 seed total). Seed was started in 2007 for molecular marker work. The 28 surviving seedlings were saved for regeneration and tranplanted to the field in spring 2009.
