Locality: Near Columbus. Collected from residential backyard.

Environment description: Part of the Pacolet formation. Growing in mixed hardwood forest consisting mainly of Liriodendron tulipifera, Fraxinus sp., Quercus sp., Microstegium vimineum, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Toxicodendron radicans, Smilax sp.

Comment: Seed collected from 20 plants. This population of conservation concern. These plants are referable to "Haplotype B" as described by Azuma et al. 2011, which is a haplotype that is distinct from all other populations studied. This population is heavily shaded and plants appear to be declining and fruit set is very low. Also, the plants are on private poperty and the home owners are elderly. Of prime interest for further studies and as conservation subjects.
