Comment: DESCRIPTION: Extraordinary number of fruits in each inflorescence for this tree alone. Description of population: single-stemmed and multi-stemmed, deciduous trees with ascending branches; 3.5 to 7 m tall; ~5 to 12 cm DBH; bark smooth and silver-gray; fruit papery flattened pods to 8 cm long and borne terminally on branches in clusters up to 10. Note: I (RJL) was told to always look for yellowwood on the upper portion of north-facing slopes.; SUB-COUNTRY GEO 2: Jessamine County; COLLECTOR'S NUMBER: RJLKY2001013A; MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT WILD COLLECTION: Seed collected from one tree; seed from this tree was separated by Rick from other collections for Mt. Cuba Center because of the extraordinary number of fruits in each inflorescence. Kris Bachtell maintained all of his seed from several trees in a single bag and didn't separate this tree.;
