Comment: DESCRIPTION: Tree.; SUB-COUNTRY GEO 2: Essex County; SUB-COUNTRY GEO 3: Gloucester, village of Magnolia; COLLECTOR'S NUMBER: B; MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT WILD COLLECTION: No number on tree, on trail [presumed from context to be the larger of a pair of trees - see 393-14*A, NA 83686, for the smaller of the pair.] Probably the rarest tree in New England, this is the only known wild population. population in severe decline due to nibbling and antler rubbing by deer. Deer fence erected and seems to be reversing this trend.;
