Environment description: Hanging over river (rushing stream in small valley).
Comment: DESCRIPTION: Foliage deep burgundy.; COLLECTOR'S NUMBER: HJM14117; MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT WILD COLLECTION: Woke to somewhat cloudy skies but not raining. Most of us quite hung over from our evening with the head of the forestry department. Processed seed in early AM. Drove to higher elevations in the AM and quite dry and disturbed. Some decent collections but mostly insignificant. Police arrived on the scene at 11:00 and we had passports checked and sent down the hill. After noodles we headed downhill to small valley and hiked up along beautiful rushing stream. Though disturbed, very rich, with ferns, Asarum, Mahonia, Stryax, Pieris, Stranvaesia, Pinus, Quercus, Castonopsis, Pittosporum, Cardiocrinum. Epimedium species expansive as groundcover. Beautiful afternoon of collecting. Collected by Donglin, hanging over river in P.M. observing that the foliage was deep burgundy.;
