Locality: Nanticoke State Wildlife Area, Sussex County Rd 493A, approximately 0.93 miles northwest of Portsville, Delaware. Growing on both sides of a gravel/sand road about 3 m above Broad Creek.

Environment description: Embankments on both sides of a gravel/sand road in part-shade; growing in sandy, well-drained soil with thin litter layer.

Comment: DESCRIPTION: Evergreen, rhizomatous, multi-stemmed groundcover, 15 cm tall.; SUB-COUNTRY GEO 2: Sussex County; COLLECTOR'S NUMBER: SUSSEX CO. 1; MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT WILD COLLECTION: In addition to the listed associated taxa, several dormant herbaceous species were also present. Bill McAvoy, botanist with the Delaware Natural Heritage Program gave us permission to collect a small number of samples for ex situ preservation.;
