Habitat: Wild Habitat
Environment description: Recognized as the best remnant of ancient Bluegrass woodland containing numerous mature, open-grown specimens.
Number of plants sampled: 12
Associated species: Growing in association with Juglans nigra, Vitis riparia, Carya laciniosa, Rosa multiflora, Lonicera maackia, Rubus alleghaniensis, Prunus serotina, Celtis occidentalis, Monarda fistulosa, and Robina pseudoacacia.
Comment: Very mature (150-350+) specimens. Majority of specimens showing signs of damage due to thin canopy (50% or less) and minimal (less than 2" (average)) annual growth likely due to age and likely presence of Emerald Ash Borer. Noted numerous dead Fraxinus americana. Numerous specimens approaching 100' in height.
