Locality: Catherine Creek. Approx. 10 km east of White Salmon, WA in the Columbia Gorge in the Gifford Pinchot NF. Take the Lyle-White Salmon Rd to parking area and hike up the trail one km until power lines are visible. Cross under the power lines to the western slope above the tree line.

Environment description: Southwest-facing mixed basalt talus and porous volcanic topsoil; no nearby surface water. Almost horizontal bench bounded by steep grassy slope (more soil, less rock) downhill and steep talus. Semi-open 45 degree slope.
Number of plants sampled: 24
Comment: Seed collected from a 5000 sq meter area with approx. 100 plants. Only about 5% or fewer of the plants produced seed and much of the seed had already fallen.
