Narrative
This is a short-day variety adapted to the southernmost onion growing districts. The bulb is thick-flat in shape, and under good growing conditions is almost free of doubles. It may bolt to seed if too large a plant is overwintered. The crop matures seven to ten days ahead of Eclipse. Our selection is highly resistant to the southern Texas strain of pink root. The bulbs must be protected from the hot sun to prevent sunscald. The flesh is fairly firm and more pungent than Eclipse. The storage life is short.
