Narrative
Pinto bean cultivar Twin Falls has an indeterminate tall upright growth habit Type IIA with small or no vines to climb. It is a full-season maturity cultivar requiring >100 days in southern Idaho and other western states. Twin Falls is resistant to bean common mosaic virus (BCMV, an aphid-vectored potyvirus that is seed-borne) probably imparted by the recessive bc-2 gene. Twin Falls is also resistant to bean rust [caused by Uromyces appendiculatus (Pers.:Pers.) Unger] conditioned by the Ur-3 gene. On average 100 seeds of Twin Falls weigh 32 g.

Description:
Pinto bean cultivar Twin Falls was selected from the multiple-parent population USPT-CBB-1/3/CO12650/USPT-ANT-1//'Othello'/ABL15. Single plant selections were made for soil iron and zinc deficiency resistance in the field in F1 followed by bulk-selection for resistance to BCMV in F2 and F3 and for other agronomic traits across stressed and non-stressed conditions from F4 to F6. Twin Falls is a bulk of four full-season maturity F7-derived F9 breeding lines from the same F4:7 family.
