Parents of CP 08-1110 were the two CP sugarcane breeding lines CP 01-2459 (female) and CP 00-2188 (male). Grandparents on the female side were US 95-1023 and CP 85-1308, and on the male side were CP 90-1549 (Self). Known great grandparents on the female side were US 94-1054, CP 85-1382, R 567, and CP 74-2013 and on male side were CP 82-1592 and CP 84-1322. Of the grandparents and great grandparents, there were two successful commercial sugarcane cultivars (CP 85-1308 and CP 85-1382) in Florida, an introduced cultivar, R 567 from Reunion, and a wide cross US 94-1054. There were five commercial cultivars among its great-great grandparents: CP 52-68 that was released for commercial production in Louisiana, CP 70-1133, CP 72-1210, CP 72-2086, and CP 74-2005 in Florida. Of these ancestral cultivars, CP 70-1133 and CP 72-2086 were the most widely grown sugarcane cultivars in Florida from 1982 to 1994.
