Environment description: Moist woods. Large sinkhole. Small, localized population restricted to north and east facing slopes on moist dolomite rock faces and talus. Growing in association with Hydrangea arborescens, Staphylea trifolia, Laporteum canadensis, Ulmus sp., Celtis occidentalis, Lindera benzoin, Heuchera villosa, Amelanchier arborea, and Carpinus caroliniana.
Number of plants sampled: 18
Comment: Specimens noted were approximatley 15-25' in height. Bracts red in color with fruits mostly green initiating reddish-purple color. Fruits approximatley 7-10 days from reaching full maturity. Leaves with numerous pin-holes.
