Narrative
Common bean pinto interspecific breeding line VCP 13 is resistant (i.e., white mold disease scores < 4) to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum isolates ARS12D, ARS14D, ARS14M, ARS15T, CO467, ND710, and NY133. VCP 13 has an indeterminate growth habit Type III, medium-sized ovate trifoliolate leaves and bracteoles, and white flowers without colored stripes at the outer base of the standard. VCP 13 takes 100 to 110 d from planting to harvest in the field in southern Idaho. One hundred seeds of VCP 13 weigh 35.2 g.

Description:
Pinto VCP 13 was derived from a recurrent backcross of pinto ‘UI 320’ with P. coccineus PI 439534 (UI 320*2/PI 439534). Gamete and pedigree selection methods under severe white mold disease pressure in the greenhouse were used to develop VCP 13.
