Narrative
Common bean pinto breeding line PRP 153 is resistant (i.e., white mold disease scores < 4) to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum isolates ARS12D, ARS14D, ARS14M, ARS15T, CO467, ND710, and NY133. Pinto PRP 153 also has resistance to less aggressive strain ARX8AC of the common blight [caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli Smith (Dye)] pathogen. PRP 153 has an indeterminate growth habit Type III, medium-sized ovate trifoliolate leaves and bracteoles, and white flowers without colored stripes at the outer base of the standard. PRP 153 takes 100 to 110 d from planting to harvest in the field in southern Idaho. One hundred seeds of PRP 153 weigh 36.5 g.
