Narrative
A light-medium brown sorghum. Short (2 1/2 - 4') fast maturing with the ability to set and mature seed in cool to cold weather. This offers northern, coastal, and mountain gardeners the possibility of growing sorghum grain. Possesses some ability to regenerate perennially where the ground doesn't freeze. Must be furrow planted to a depth that when hilled over will put crown below soil freezing depth or it will freeze out.

Description:
M6-1 was selected for non-rhizomous perennial growth. It is descended from crosses of various grain sorghum and perennial Johnson grass selections allowed to randomly cross, self or whatever, segregate, and then were selfed in conjunction with uncontrolled sib pollination at points to test the effect of apparently slight visual line variation on F-2 trait expression.
