In the common wheat variety Lassik (PVP No. 200800176) we introgressed loss-of-function mutations in the paralogous SBEII genes (SBEIIa and SBEIIb) in the A and B genome (SBEIIa/b-AB) and in SBEIIa in the D genome. The a/b mutations from the A and B genome were introgressed from PI 670159 and PI 670161, respectively, and the SBEIIa mutation in the D genome from a TILLING population of the common wheat line UC1041+Gpc-B1/Yr36 using 5 backcrosses to Lassik. Mutations were combined by crossing.
