In the common wheat variety Lassik (PVP No. 200800176) we introgressed loss-of-function mutations in the paralogous copies of the SBEII genes (SBEIIa and SBEIIb) in the B genome (SBEIIa/b-B) and in SBEIIa in the D genome. The a/b mutations from the B genome were introgressed from PI 670161, and the SBEIIa mutation in the D genome from a TILLING population of the common wheat line UC1041+Gpc-B1/Yr36 (Univ. California Davis) using 5 backcrosses to Lassik. Mutations were combined by crossing.
