Environment description: Dry rocky soils. Near base of south, southwest-facing slope near Bear Creek. Deciduous woods. Growing in association with Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, Quercus muehlenbergii, and Fraxinus nigra.

Narrative
Accession sampled off a single mother tree measuring 44.45 cm in d.b.h. Specimen was showing a few signs of dieback/decline. Foliage moderate-very pubescent. Only one fruiting specimen noted throughout area explored. Noted additional juvenile specimens nearby (approximately 6 specimens). Little to no "buttery" smell to nuts. Nuts measured 28.28 mm (0.85 st.dev.) in width and 47.59 mm (1.75 st. dev.) in length (random sample of 10 nuts).
