Narrative
The line was extensively tested in Iowa on several locations in 2003, 2004 and 2007. In 2005 and 2006, it was yield tested in the northern soybean SCN Regional Trials of the U.S. Its SOS resistance was screened by planting on artificially SOS-infested soil sites, by evaluations in environments in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota in 2007. In 2006 AR11SOS was resistant to SCN races 1, 3, 5 and 6 in Indiana in greenhouse screening. In Illinois greenhouse testing, 2006, this line was highly resistant to Race 3 and had low levels of resistance to Race 1. In plantings on calcareous soils in Iowa and Minnesota in 2006, AR11SOS has an iron deficiency chlorosis (IOC} score of 1.7 and 3.1 respectively. Seed composition analysis was conducted at by the USOA-ARS National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research, Peoria, Illinois in conjunction with the SCN Regional Trials in 2005 and 2006. Molecular analysis was conducted to determine presence of molecular markers associated with SOS resistance, there were four markers associated with SOS resistance that were transferred from the parent Ripley: Satt166, Satt226, Satt262, and Satt311.
