Description:
Durum wheat Kronos was crossed to the Kronos mutant line T4-2235 which carries a splice acceptor site mutation in the A genome homoeologue of the TaGW2 gene (mutation G2373A). After the initial cross, four backcrosses were performed selecting progenies carrying the mutant gw2-a1 allele. The lines were then self-pollinated and homozygous mutant and homozygous wild type sibling lines were selected.
