Environment description: Small (approximately 100 specimens noted), localized population growing in old woods currently being grazed for cattle. Growing on clay based (heavy) soils on gentle south-facing slope (30-40 degrees) in association with Carya ovata, Malus ioensis, Morus alba, Erigeron strigosus, Crataegus spp., Ulmus sp., extremely large Prunus virginiana, Quercus macrocarpa, Rosa multiflora, Lonicera maackia, Podophyllum peltatum, and Carex spp.

Narrative
Seed harvested approximately 4-5 days post peak harvest date. Approximately 50% seeds already shattered at time of harvest. Light blue flowers with peak bloom on 02-May-2015, which coincided with peak bloom on Malus ioensis.
