Environment description: Rocky, very shallow soils. Growing in association with Quercus muehlenbergii, Juniperus virginiana, Acer saccharum, Cercis canadensis, Lindera benzoin, Diospyros virginiana, Silphium terebinthinaceum, Baptisia sp., Rudbeckia sp., and Rhus glabra.
Number of plants sampled: 8
Comment: Localized population and scattered specimens throughout immediate area. Relatively rare to infrequent elsewhere nearby. Few seeds produced (2015).
