Description:
Syn1RR was developed in 2009 by selecting nine individuals from a Syn1 tall fescue germplasm that segregates individuals exhibiting a high level of tolerance to infection by Puccinia graminis subsp. graminicola, Individuals exhibiting no rust, utilizing a score of 0-10, were combined to generate Syn1RR. Syn1RR's predecessor, Syn1, was generated through the polycross crossing of eight dihaploid lines generated through a unique gamete selection breeding strategy.
