Locality: Tamaulipas, Tamaulipas, halfway between Palmillitas [Palmillas] and [illegible, probably Miquihuana based on map location], along crushed gravel [road]. [From map, it appears to have been collected along the road NL 120 between Palmillas/Palmillitas and Miquihuana in western Tamaulipas -SBL].

Environment description: Dry region, rocky, cactus, Agave, Pinus.
Comment: Upright shrub, 10-12' by 4-6', Black rough bark. Height 10-15, most seeds collected from 3 plants, nicest specimen between road and field, DBH 19.5cm. Flowers bright yellow, fruit small, purple, fleshy; DBH 3", pith yellow.
