Locality: Gansu Province: Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Tewo County (Diebu County), Coll. north of Lazikou.

Environment description: mesic, mixed deciduous/coniferous forest; SE running stream through fairly steep ravine; collected on the side of the stream that was heavily grazed and cut. The opposite side of the stream remained an excellent forest in good condition., 45 degrees, SW, rocky, organic clay,
Comment: Tree; height 5 meters, D.B.H. largest trunk approximately 8 centimeters; 30 centimeters at base; coppiced and multi-stemmed. Bark silvery-tan, smooth. Leaves cordate with truncate base; serrate margins; lightly velutinous below; 7 centimeters wide by 8 centimeters long. Fruit mostly single, but some in groups of 2-3; distinctly five-sided; green; 1.5 centimeters in diameter.
