Environment description: Scattered speicmens throughout deciduous woods. Growing in association with Corylus americana, Carya ovata, Quercus rubra, Viburnum lentago, Acer saccharum, Ribes sp., and Rubus occidentalis.
Number of plants sampled: 5
Comment: Seeds Exposed (open capsules). Seeds bright red in color. Very showy. Only 5 fruiting specimens noted throughout site. Numerous small (<6" tall) seedlings.
