Environment description: Minerotrophic fen in a shallow basin. Many hummocks with standing water between. Fen dissected by many sloughs. A large area of open water within the fen has active beaver dams. Hummocks support small trees and shrubs
Comment: CRANBERRY IGRR PROJECT V. macrocarpon occurs mainly in the valleys between the hummocks while V. oxycoccos occurs mainly on the hummocks Many dead Picea rubens in fen, probably frmo changing water levels. Did not sample eastern area of fen, which is beyond the area of open water.
