Narrative
SD07CV-539 was derived from a cross of IA2052 x Pion 9092, relative maturity (RM) 1.1. The cross was made in the summer of 2003, and the progeny was advanced to F4 generation by single pod descent the summer of 2006. In 2007, F5 progeny rows from segregating population were selected. Subsequently, these lines were yield tested in 2008 and 2009 (F6-F7) in multiple locations. The experimental line SD07CV-539, selected from these lines, was further evaluated in the USDA Uniform Soybean Test ? Northern Region: Preliminary Test 2010 and Uniform Test 2011-2013, and the South Dakota Crop Performance Test (2010-2013). Average yield was 56.8 bu/a in Regional Uniform Tests 2010-2013 (28 year-locations), slightly higher than Surge and Sheyenne, but lower than MN1401. In SD CPT 2010-2013 (8 year-locations), its yield averaged 49.4 bu/a, slightly higher than Surge and Codington (SD04CV-611). It was 3.51% higher than Deuel (47.9 bu/a) and 2.09% higher than Brookings (SD05-240, 48.6 bu/a) in CPT 2010-2012 (6 year-locations). Its oil content averaged 18.8% in regional UT 2012 and 2013, 19.4% in SD CPT 2010-2013, and protein 33.7% and 36.6%, respectively.
