Environment description: Collection site is a salty slope in a flat valley. Population is probably weedy.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Associated species: Chenopodium botrys, Atriplex moneta, Andropogon ischaemum
Comment: Seed collected from 50 plants in a population of approximately 100 plants found in a 500 sq meter area. Lactuca plants were frequent and irregularly distributed at this site. Plants were biennial, up to 1m high, inflorescence branched. Stems white, aspirate. Leaves lanceolate, pinnate-acute-lobate, rarely entire, hard dark green. Inflorescence lax paniculate. Capitula 10-12 mm long. Flowers yellow. Plants well developed, in mid-fruiting stage.
