Environment description: Collected in a small valley in the foothills. Site has northern exposure. Population weedy.
Number of plants sampled: 55
Associated species: Artemsia absinthium, Acroptilon repens, Ephedra equisetina
Comment: Seed collected from 55 plants in a population of approximately 120 plants found in a 200 sq meter area. Lactuca plants were abundant and irregularly distributed at this site. Plants were biennial, up to 1.3m high, inflorescence more or less branched. Stems white, aspirate. Leaves lanceolate, pinnate-acute-lobate, hard, dark green. Inflorescence lax paniculate. Capitula 10mm long. Flowers yellow. Plants well developed.
