Environment description: Very common on cut-over forest floor under tall pines, shade.
Comment: Small cut and resprouted deciduous shrub ca. 1 m tall, single or multi-stemmed; leaves lustrous medium green above, dull, paler and slightly whitish beneath; fruit dull blue-black, 9 mm long, 6 mm diameter, very heavily fruited.
