Environment description: Malus fusca were sampled along the entrance road to the park in a very wet, seasonally flooded area and in a drier, sandier area behand the campground. The sandier area had higher numbers of fruits than in the marshy area at the park entrance. No evidence of domesticated apples was found. Additional associated species include Alnus ruba, Gaultheria shallon, Pinus contorta, Rubus spectabilis, and Vaccinium ovatum.
