Locality: Logan Co. S side of Stevenson Mill Road, approx 1.0 miles W of Raymond Athey State Nature Preserve

Habitat: Wild Habitat
Environment description: Hardwood forest interspersed with limestone barrens.
Associated species: Quercus marilandica, Symphyotrichum pilosum, Dalea candida, Clematis veriscolor, Andropogon gerardii, Ruellia humilis.
Comment: Population size approximately1000 plants. Mounded perennial with sterile stem; flowers pink with red striae fused into a star, leaves ovate-lanceolate, glabrous or pubescent above; stems maroon.
