W-333 is a clonally propagated sweetpotato genotype that originated from a single seed from a polycross breeding nursery in 1992 in which 32 parents were randomly distributed in four field replications at the USDA ARS, U. S. Vegetable Laboratory, Charleston, SC. Pollination was by natural bee populations. Its original designation was 93-191, and it was later renamed W-333. The maternal parent of W-333 is W-269. The paternal parent of W-333 is one of the other 31 genotypes in the polycross nursery
