Narrative
The Western Regiona Plant Introduction and Research Station, which houses vegetative smooth cordgrass plants, is unable to accept this clone. Plant patent is being considered for this plant. lf a patent is applied for the LSU AgCenter's Burden Center will maintain vegetative stock of this variety upon expiry of plant patent. If this variety is not patented it will be maintained a minimum of 5 years.

Seeds were harvested and LA12-102 was derived from one selected seed and vegetatively propagated to maintain its identity
