Environment description: Site 1: High spots between granite boulders strewn about a young woodland. Sandy soil with a few inches of humus layer. Site 2: Roadside. Disturbed ground on sandy soil with a slight humus layer.
Associated species: Site 1: Acer rubrum, Acer spicatum, Corylus cornuta, Ilex verticillata, Lonicera canadensis, Populus tremuloides, Quercus rubra, Ribes cynosbati, and Ribes glandulosa. Site 2: Corylus cornuta, grasses, Populus tremuloides, and Rubus.
Comment: Latitude/longitude and elevation averaged between two nearby collection sites. Seeds from Site 1 and Site 2 were combined and considered one population (only 2.0 miles apart).
