Locality: Site 1: near Boy Scout Ranch, Sweetwater Creek, Site 2: along County Line Road, Gageby Creek, and Site 3: Britt Ranch, Sweetwater Creek, all in the Pampa area, Wheeler County.
Elevation: 685m.
Environment description: Wet bottomland, with a high water table. Site 1: wildlife land, Site 2: grazing for horses; may not have Eastern gamagrass for many more years, and Site 3: hay meadow. Most of the area had received more than average rain the year of collection. 0 to 1% slope with exposure on all sides. Sweetwater soils. Average annual precipitation of 23 inches. Associated with Indian grass, prairie cord grass, sand blue-stem, and switch grass.
