Comment: Possibly cultivated escapes. Very small, localized (split) population with excellent seed production. Additional specimens noted just east of Penn Road, along Highway 417, on small northwest and west-facing slope adjacent to marsh. Largest specimen (split trunk) measured 32 inches d.b.h. with an approximate height of 70-90 feet. Exceptionally clean foliage at time of collection. These individuals were most likely not planted via humans considering the topographic location, context, and obvious, appropriate habitat, however, flooding or animals may have spread seeds from a cultivated specimen.
