Description:
TeQing backcrossed 2 to 4 times with Lemont, followed by 6 to 8 generations of self pollinations, at which time molecular selection was used to identify progeny lines containing non-redundant TeQing introgressions in a 65% or more recurrent parent (Lemont) genetic background. Increased rates of backcrossing (and subsequent decreased selfing) were based on visually determined need to increase phenotypic similarity with the recurrent parent.
