Environment description: 2 m high, 4 m across. In shade of redwood and oak forest.
Comment: Molecularly confirmed to be the R. fruticosus agg. genotype that is common in Oregon (similar frequency to R. armeniacus) and occasional in Northern California. This is identical to the R. anglocanidicans genotype that is widespread in Australia (see Evans and Weber 2003, ?Rubus anglocandicans (Rosaceae) is the most widespread taxon of European blackberry in Australia?, Australian Systematic Botany, 16(4): 527-537). In the journal article that I am currently preparing about clonal diversity of R. fruticosus agg. in the Western US, this is ?clone 3?.
