S05-11268 is a determinate early maturity group (MG) V (relative maturity 5.0) conventional soybean that has shown excellent yield potential and broad resistance to diseases and insects. S05-11268 has white flowers, tawny pubescence and tan pods. Seeds are shiny yellow with black hila, average seed weight 13.4 g per 100 seeds. Plants are about 62 cm in height, mature on 6 October, lodging scores are 1.6 (1 = all plants erect; 5 = all plants lodged flat). Seed protein and oil content are 411 and 221 g per Kg. S05-11268 is resistant to reniform nematode and moderately resistant to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe) races 1, 2, 3, 5 and 14. S05-11268 is moderately resitant to stem canker [caused by Diaporthe phaseolorum (Cooke and Ellis) Sacc, var. meridionales F. A. Fernandez] and is moderately resistant to sudden death syndrome [caused by Fusarium solani (Mort.) Sacc. f. sp. glycines Roy]. It has shown moderately susceptible to frogeye leaf spot [caused by Cercospora sojina (Hara)] and southern root knot nematode [Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood]. It is susceptible to phytophthora root rot [caused by Phythphthora sojae M. J. Kaufmann and J. W. Gerdemann], but shows very good field tolerance to the disease.
