Narrative
Of 29 seeds, 21 germinated. A nucellar seedling (RSD1998012SG006 = RRUT 114) was selected and retained as RRUT 114 (Krueger and Roose, 2003). RSD 1998012 was then inactivated. This accession is in the large flower group of Fang et al (1997). Note that this was apparently received in Florida as a 2N and the tetraploidy induced sometime thereafter (conjectured from WFF Accession Book). There is also a 2N 'Christiansen' at WFF, which was received with with the same seedlot number of C63-26, supporting this supposition. The 2N version is apparently the same as PI 539771.
