Narrative
This accession was propagated from the rootstock of the plant noted in Source History upon the advice of the late
Prof Bill BItters
of the University of California Citrus Experiment Station. Bill said in the 1990's that he thought that
C macrophylla
had "changed" over the years. Therefore, this genotype was accessioned as an "old"
C macrophylla
that might be different than the existing accessions
PI 539182
and
PI 600628
. Observation of the tree and fruit over the years did not reveal any differences between RRUT 30 and the other
C macorphylla
. RRUT 30 was also not distinguishable from the other
C macrophylla
by SSR marker-based analysis performed in 2009 in the laboratory of
Prof Mikeal Roose
, University of California, Riverside. Therefore, it was inactivated in 01/28/2010. (RR Krueger, 09/09/2010)
