Locality: Luzerne County. From SR 3001 (runs between Nuangola and Nanticoke) stop at high point and walk east northeast along ridge of Penobscot Mountain. Plants occur in small isolated rocky summit openings in forest.
Coordinates: 41.1642, -76.0011 (Map it)
Environment description: Trees are usually sparse and herbs dominate with Corex pensylvanica and others. Growing in association are Schizachyrium scoparium, Sorghastrum nutans.
Comment: Clearly native - isolated and in right habitat. An historical collection was also made nearby. GAZETTEER: P. 52, E2
