Locality: Columbia County. From north shore of Susquehanna River a bit east of the Columbia/Montour county line. Bushwhack south over railroad grade and wade in river to get to Clark's Island. Go south and then wade over to Manches Island at the east end.
Coordinates: 40.9492, -76.5069 (Map it)
Environment description: Gravel bar herb dominated or without vegetation. Scattered trees are present. To the west (downstream) island becomes more forested. Present are Betula nigra, Platanus occidentalis, Apocynum cannabinum, Hypericum ascyron, Xanthium, Acer saccharinum, Spartina pectinata, Eupatorium serotinum, Andropogon gerardii.
