Narrative
In 2009, three samples (No. 33; No. 35, and No. 38) of Cornus mas were acquired by Dr. Malli Aradhya from the same market (Ashigli Village, Azerbaijan). Despite samples originating from the same area each sample differed in morphological characters (fruits). Based on seed measurements, sample No. 35 was the largest averaging 20.42 mm in length (n=10; min=19.02 mm, max=22.38 mm; std. dev. 1.11) and 8.15 mm in width (n=10; min=8.28 mm, max=8.31 mm; std. dev. 0.41) compared to the smallest sample No. 33 measuring 13.95 mm in length (n=10; min=13.31 mm, max=14.97 mm; std. dev. 0.54) and 6.00 mm in width (n=10; min=5.20 mm, max=6.88 mm; std. dev. 0.51). Sample No. 38 was intermediate.
