Narrative
Developed using a modified bulk-pedigree procedure. Small seeded lentil with green seed coat and yellow cotyledons, which flowers in approx. 65 d and matures in 99 d. Has a mature plant height that averages 33.2 cm. Mean plant height index (PHI) calculated as the ratio of canopy height at harvest to overall vine length is 0.89. PHI values can range from 0 which is indicative of severe susceptibility to lodging, to 1 which represents complete resistance to lodging. Mean PHI and its mean mature plant height value indicate that it is a relatively tall lentil with good tolerance to lodging. Mean 100 seed weight is 4.3 g. Tested in replicated advanced yield trials for a total of 40 site-years in the US Pacific Northwest (ID and WA) and Northern Plains (MT and ND). Over all environments, averaged 1367 kg/ha. Mean yield over 23 site-years in the Pacific Northwest (WA and ID) was 1301 kg/ha. Mean yield over 17 site-years in the northern Plains (MT and ND) was 1456 kg/ha.
