Locality: Stone State Park, just northwest of Sioux City, T89N R48W west 1/2 of Sec. 1 and east 1/2 of Sec. 2 Sioux City Quad., extreme northwest corner of Woodbury County.

Environment description: Variable-wet bottomland and dry slopes; a few small creeks with running water. Variable exposure. 0-45 degrees of slope with southern and eastern aspects.
Number of plants sampled: 9
Associated species: Aesculus glabra, Celtis occidentalis, Cornus obliqua, Ulmus americana, Euonymus atropurpureus, Fraxinus, Juglans nigra, Ostrya virginiana, Quercus macrocarpa, Rhus typhina, Staphylea trifolia, Tilia americana, and Ulmus thomasii.
Comment: Occasional population abundance with irregular distribution over 200,000 square meters. Latitude, longitude, and elevation averaged between all specimens sampled. Coordinates for each mother tree may be provided upon request.
