NE1-06-12 is a great northern F7:F8 three-way cross (G95023/Weihing//BMN-RMR-11) developed by the University of Nebraska dry bean breeding program. The first cross was made in winter 2003. F1 was advanced to F2 and in 2004, and about 50 individual plant selections were made for generation advancement (F3:F4). The F3:F5 bulk was evaluated in replicated yield trials in 2005. The F3:F6 bulk was planted in replicated trials at the PHREC-Mitchell and Scottsbluff. About154 individual plant selections were made within the line and bulked based on uniformity.
